It’s about time solid empiricism is linked with sound business practices. Maybe we can get away from all of the “old wives tales” and “traditional beliefs” about business and management.

Great point! Dr. Deming had urged American business to "drive out fear" years ago. I guess he had intuited what science now is demonstrating. I wonder what other things leaders can do to reduce fear in the workplace? The carrot and the stick have been around for a long time! Yet people can only "volunteer" their absolute best!

Thank you for this great article.
The difficult part is to challenge our own feeling of rightness -as it takes courage "to move from certainty to tentativeness"... until we learn to change the language!

I think this video is terrific. The use of consequential language instead of confrontational is the key. The results would show in performance output. Thank you for the stimulus.

Rich Trafton doesn't fool around. He can see through your excuses, explains the root of the real problem, and makes suggestions on how to implement the changes to face today's business challenges. His personal coaching has helped me turn off my old brain thinking and has challenged me to think about better ways that will turn in more constructive habits in today's business environment. Stay tuned as Rich and Diane have many more powerful messages to present in their book and in person.
